Finding nice old tools at the Flea Mrket has become one of my Sunday morning habits. So, every sunny Sunday I take the quest of finding old treasures between mountains of crap. Indeed, I’m feeling myself like a treasure hunter on the pirates island!
Here’s what I found in my last three or four trips:
Narrow Silversmith Hammer
Wide Silversmith Hammer
French Type Joiner's Hammer (fr: marteau de menuisier)
Large German Type Cobbler's Hammer (de: Schuster's Hammer)
Medium Sized, German Type Cobbler's Hammer Head
Small Sized, German Type Cobbler's Hammer
French Type Cobbler's Hammer (fr: marteau de cordonnier)
Planishing Hammer (Metalworking)
Another Planishing Hammer (Metalworking)
Small Ball Pein Hammer
Height Gage (300mm)
Precision Straight Edge (100mm long)
Painted ECE Smoothing Plane
Large Rocker Knife (inox-molibdenum steel with wooden handles)
Vintage Oil Dispenser Pump (brass)
Solid Brass Stamp from the '60s
A Couple of Small Raadvad Knives With Rosewood Handles
A 0-25 mm Micrometer
Another 0-25 mm Micrometer (Mitutoyo)
A 25-50 mm (0-50 mm with additional 25 mm anvil) Micrometer (USSR)
Small Anvil (~2kg, Made in Romania)
Hand Forged Cold Chisel (~25mm wide)
Small Grinding Stones (for 10mm shafts, fine and coarse grain)
Old, Stubby Screwdriver With Wooden Handle
Leather Edge Tool
A 16mm Gouge
A Back Bent Gouge
A Couple of Strange Round Rasps with a Gimlet-like Tip
A Half-round Rasp in Very Good Condition
Three Square Scraper
An Unidentified Tool (any hint is welcomed)
Total cost (all items): ~110 EUR.
All these tools are crying for some restoration/maintenance work (except the ECE plane which looks like new)!
Can I ignore them?!
Stay tuned, will be continued!
